Subject Description

The Youth Internship is the practical application of principles learnt in the Support and Lead Youth Ministry unit. It incorporates youth ministry leadership; planning & applying youth ministry programs; coordinating youth ministry outreach events and evangelism strategies; and youth ministry in schools. Students will receive experience, training, and personal mentoring from experienced ministers within their local church or approved ministry.

Undertake Youth Ministry Leadership
This subject sets a foundation for the call of a youth leader. Providing an introduction and overview of youth ministry, focusing on areas such as purpose, vision, pastoral care and communication within the various age groups.

Plan & Apply Youth Ministry Programmes
This subject covers principles of purpose and elements and structure of Youth Ministry programmes through camps, missions and outreaches. A foundational subject which introduces the development and organisation of youth meetings and programs.

Coordinate Youth Ministry Outreach Events and Evangelism Strategies
Learn practical knowledge on planning and coordinating an outreach or special event, considering the elements of purpose, venue, budget and marketing etc. Pulpit evangelism techniques and concepts are defined and discussed, adapting to objectives and target audiences.

Undertake Youth Ministry in Schools
Youth Ministry in schools is a vital part of reaching the youth of any community. This subject will define objectives, opportunities of chaplaincy, youth at risk, how to adapt sport to reach youth, and building relationships within the school culture for a long term influence.
